Roche needed a way to tell the story of one of their largest initiatives: Personalized Healthcare.
As a part of a project-focused external consulting team I led the visual design and branding for a content management portal that reached 94 thousand users, worldwide.
The work span was diverse: designing and facilitating creative workshops with senior stakeholders, Visual Design, and asset creation. In addition, I created a series of illustrations that brought the client’s story to life, all while adhering to global brand guidelines.
I modified client-supplied photography to fit this page layout.
Copy was written by the content creator on the consultant team.
Current Events float to the top and are visually distinguished by the burgundy color pop. Past Events have valuable information for the users, therefore they remain visible and accessible, but are pushed to the bottom.
Includes an Author and Topics summary card for easy skimming for the user. One is able to contact the author to encourage connection and communication within Roche. It is also possible to share articles by using the share icons at the bottom of the page.
This page showcases a Molecule Lifecycle illustration at the top. Tables expand to reveal more content, such as related media, article links, contacts, etc.
Created the illustrations and composed the copy for these Error pages. Illustrations were definitely one of the most fun parts of this project.
This illustration was created for the Home page of the PHC portal. Its intent is to tell the story of Personalized Healthcare at Roche in 3 panels. This panel is about how Roche uses data and technology to advance research and fight disease.
This illustration panel is about how Roche is constantly putting the patient and the patients’ experience first. At Roche, they believe that the patient is more than their DNA/data - though their DNA helps other patients fight disease and learn about it.
This panel illustrates how Roche advances medical care, overall, by making it more effective, more precise, and more accessible. Roche empowers medical professionals to make better, more informed, decisions for their hospitals, staff, and patients.
This illustration was a collaborative effort. I worked with internal Roche teams to figure out what each section of the cycle would look like. The messaging came from their internal communication materials, and was adjusted to fit this form. Each section was workshopped so that all participants had the outcome they desired in order to communicate the vision of PHC throughout the organization.

Distilling the values of the brand.
LeanMD is a medically-supervised custom weightloss program. Diablo Family Physicians choose patients who are already part of the practice to participate in this custom, life-saving plan. This system is strict, yet manageable, and most of all, effective.
The visual identity and voice of LeanMD had to be legitimate and serious, yet friendly and approachable at the same time.
The manuals are full of vital information, which needed to be broken down into smaller, more digestible chapters. Statistics, charts, and tables are used to display some of this information so that it can be read clearly in a snapshot.
Also, meal plans are displayed using icons in addition to words. This approach visually simplified the information, making the plan easier to stick to in the long run.

Designed and art directed the first of LeanMD's manuals. This item is part of a kit, which is accompanied by a food tracker, recipe booklet, and shopping lists pad.
I approach all interactive design challenges the same way I approach all design problems: I start on paper/whiteboard. I believe that beginning digital layouts with a concept that has been thought out in this way is favorable for the client and the designer. Also, I make sure that all components could solidly stand alone, as well as harmonize with the rest of the system.

THE PROCESS
VALUES: During the Discovery step, identify key values that the visual identity must communicate.
IDEATION & RESEARCH: I begin the identity design process the old-fashioned way; by sketching as many ideas on paper as possible, researching competitive logos, creating moodboards and inspiration boards, and clearly identifying key values that the client needs communicated through their brand elements.
ORGANIZATION & STRATEGY: The next step in the process is organization and planning. I identify the design directions that begin to emerge as our ideas, sketches, and values are grouped.
CONVERGE-DIVERGE: Rounds of revisions bring focus to a visual solution that works for the client.
Proudly joined the Wendy's branding team at Tesser, Inc. Finalized and optimized all cameo and logotype details for a spectrum of uses.
Participated in the development of the Wendy's Brand Guide under the creative direction of Parker Moore, while at Tesser, Inc.

Here are several examples of packaging designs that I've created.
Known for being one of the best palette cleansers for wine tasting, and a very refreshing beverage. It was time to refresh the label, too. The new label had to stay true to the product’s purity, its crispness, and continue to appeal to the aesthetic tastes of Evo water’s modern consumer.
Original packaging was clean, but did not look edible. The blues and greens used on the labels were those of cleaning products, not consumables. I chose a more cucumber green to freshen and elevate EVO's presence on the shelf.

This toning and firming cream packaging needed a makeover! Staying close to Benefit's fun, pin-up, flirty aesthetic, and adding some modern gal and fashionista imagery gave the brand several options to choose from to elevate their Wonder Lift stock packaging look.
